By Jamie White – Head of Communications
Team members at Douglas Stafford will be helping to bring some festive cheer to under-privileged people in Portsmouth this Sunday.
A charity Christmas lunch is being held in the Real Cooking Cafe at the company’s Head Office at 1000 Lakeside, Portsmouth for three local charities.
Everyone invited to the special lunch, including individuals, families, children and young adults, are currently being supported by the You Trust, Two Saints, The Roberts Centre and the Paulsgrove Foodbank.
Volunteers from businesses based at 1000 Lakeside will be making sure lunch is prepared and served to an estimated 250 people.
The event has been organised by members of the Lakeside CSR Group and businesses at Lakeside North Harbour and will also feature games, presents and a visit from father Christmas.
Douglas Stafford Operations Manager, Paul Brown, has kindly offered to cook the food for the day and admits he is relishing the challenge.
“I was a chef for many years at The Grand Hotel, Brighton, so I’m looking forward to getting my chef whites back on and getting stuck in. It’s for a very good cause and I am just pleased we can help give something back to those people who are less fortunate than ourselves,” said Paul.
Ahead of the event, Paul was interviewed on BBC Radio Solent by reporter Dominic Blake, along with Marketing and Client Liaison Manager at Lakeside North Harbour, Karen Tyrrell.
