Following a celebratory event yesterday (Monday) commemorating the occasion at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the HondaJet provided an entertaining flight demonstration which included high and low-speed passes during the afternoon air show.

The HondaJet is the world’s most advanced light jet, and its distinctive design incorporates advanced technologies and concepts. The HondaJet Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration, natural-laminar flow wing and fuselage nose, and composite fuselage were developed from long-term research activities. These innovations combine to make the HondaJet the fastest, most spacious and most fuel-efficient jet in its class.

Honda Aircraft President and CEO Michimasa Fujino, said: “EAA AirVenture Oshkosh has been the setting of several HondaJet firsts and in many ways, this event was the true beginning of Honda’s aviation venture.

“We decided to debut the first production HondaJet here as part of Honda’s ongoing commitment to inspire others through the power and realisation of our dreams.

Jack J. Pelton, EAA’s Chairman of the Board, said: “It has been fascinating to watch the development of the HondaJet from its original concept to the production aircraft shown here at Oshkosh. It is a tribute to the entire Honda team that made it possible.”

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is the world’s premier aviation event that attracts more than 500,000 people each year. The show runs until Sunday, August 3rd, and is held at Wittman Regional Airport.
