The automotive charity BEN is calling on cyclists to take part in this year’s London to Paris 24 Cycle Challenge.
The 240-mile event takes place between Friday June 5th-7th and has already attracted some strong entrants.
Frank Massey, Director at Automotive Diagnostic Solutions, who is taking part, said: “I am fortunate to be in good health and appreciate those who are not need our help and support. My aim is to raise support from all my friends and contacts within the independent sector to reach a minimum target of £2000, to aid this great and diverse charity. Cycling is an absolute passion of mine – next to the automotive industry of course – so my intention is to finish in style.”
The registration fee is £99 and the minimum sponsorship of £1, 000 covers transport on the Eurostar, accommodation plus all food and drinks (except Eurostar). As well as a guaranteed place in one of the most exhilarating cycling events, BEN will support entrants with training tips, help set up justgiving or virginmoneygiving sites and even provides a bag of goodies to keep their cyclists on the move.
Cyclists can also join the Strava forum (www.strava.com/clubs/BENMotorCharity) and share training strategies, monitor progress and connect with other cyclists.
Bekki Chandler, BEN’s Events Executive, commented: “Thank you to everyone who has signed up for this exceptional challenge. It takes true strength, determination and stamina to take part. There are still places available and I would love to hear from anyone who is up for a challenge with a difference.
“After arriving in Paris a ‘celebratory dinner’ will be held Saturday evening to say ‘thank you’ and meet family and friends who have also supported this strenuous challenge. The rewarding knowledge is that the vital funds raised will help so many more of our industry colleagues who are facing tough times and are in need of our help.”
