By Jamie White – Head of Communications
Team members and many valued clients of Douglas Stafford helped the company celebrate its 25th anniversary with a spectacular party at Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower.
More than 150 guests partied the night away, as the company marked the landmark milestone in style, at the south coast’s most iconic building.
On arrival, guests were treated to welcome drinks and canapes on Viewing Deck 1, before Head of Communications, Jamie White welcomed everyone to the event.
A video presentation was played featuring pictures and clips from years gone by, showing how much the mystery shopping company has grown since it was founded by current CEO Nigel Cook.
Nigel went on to give an interesting speech, talking about the driving force behind creating the company and how Douglas Stafford has become the market leader for Video Mystery Shopping across various industry sectors in the UK, to help clients analyse and improve the customer experience, across several platforms.
Nigel also thanked his team, many of whom have been working with the company for several years, including some who have been working for Douglas Stafford for more than 10 years.
Nigel’s speech was followed by words from Operations Director, Ben Sargeant, who again thanked the team for all their hard work and efforts over the years.
During the evening, there was sumptuous hot food and live music from The Vibe, who had guests on their feet as they played an array of popular covers from the decades through to the present day.
Illusionist Aaron Isted wowed the crowds with his incredible magic tricks, leaving guests watching on in amazement at his skills.
DJ Adrian Knight, brought the evening to a close, despite the best efforts of guests asking him to keep playing on until the early hours – sadly, it just wasn’t possible.
A fun photobooth was set up on the Viewing Deck 2, which had guests in hysterics as they took full advantage of the wacky and wonderful props that were available, before striking a pose.
During the daytime on Friday and Saturday, lucky Douglas Stafford team members who won a prize draw, took to the water on board the 40ft Beneteau sailing yacht, Lady Diane for a special sailing experience in the Solent. And many thrill-seeking guests enjoyed exhilarating blasts in the Solent on a high-powered RIB, with some returning to shore slightly damper than when they left.
Local press have also taken a keen interest in the 25th anniversary of Douglas Stafford, with Nigel featuring on the business pages of The Portsmouth News in an interview with Business Editor, Claire French.
Nigel was also invited onto BBC Radio Solent, where he was a guest on the Katie Martin Afternoon Show and talked about the success of the company and explained how it has grown since it was founded in 1989.
